Welcome to Tasha's Tutoring and Music!

I have taught in classrooms for 15 years, teaching all grades and many different subjects (both virtually and in person) throughout my career. I have also been a homeschooling mom, so I understand the challenges that come with that.

 

Tasha's Tutoring and Music started back in 2003, when I was still in high school. I had volunteered to judge a science fair, and my co-judge had a child who was struggling in math. We talked, and she had me come to her house once a week to help her 5th grade daughter with her math. Shortly after that, I began teaching piano lessons to kids in my neighborhood. I learned very quickly that I have a knack for private tutoring and for explaining difficult concepts in a way that just "makes sense." 

 

I have performed professionally in many music groups, and enjoy spreading music and the joy it brings. I've also coached color guard and drum line.

 

I have a bachelor's in International Business Management and Secondary Education from Brigham Young University - Hawaii, and a Master's in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Gifted, Creativity, and Talent Development from University of Connecticut. I also teach for Adventures with Mr. Math, an after school math program for highly advanced students, and I am involved in the math Educational Software, Everybody Learn Fact Fluency.

 

I live with my husband with our blended family of five children in Payson, Utah.
